I’m Nominated, Huh? Liebster award?

Okay, so this happened this morning.  I have been nominated for the Liebster award by Mara Jorge of Mara’s Artistry.  Thank you!!! and congratulations on your first 100 followers!  I love watching the stats grow but I did not expect to be nominated for anything so soon.  Thank you for following my blog.  I was so surprised to see my name on your list.

It looks like this award is to help us all find new blogs and gain followers etc.  Normally I don’t believe in contests because, who wins depends on the people judging, unless of course it is to do with crossing finish lines and written tests, that sort of thing.  This one sounds fun and it isn’t really a contest.  It is acknowledgment and recognition which I really appreciate!  It will help me get to know some community bloggers better, so I will go for it.

I am not quite at 50 followers yet.  I am just in to my third week of blogging, ever!  I am amazed at the compassion bloggers have for one another.  Awesome!  So now I must answer 11 questions (only if I choose to of course,) and share 11 facts about myself and then I will nominate 7 other bloggers for this award.

Here are the questions and answers;

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and why?  I would choose the ability to send a wave of kindness over all of humanity.  Wouldn’t it be great if everyone was at least kind to one another?  They wouldn’t have to always agree on things, or like the same things but just be nice to one another.  What a wonderful world that would be!

Is there anything you regret from your childhood?  Hmmm, there are a lot of things I regret, the most important one is not speaking up for myself.  Not telling anyone of things that shouldn’t have happened.  I watch for signs in other children now.  It has made me who I am so I’m not sure if I should really regret it or embrace it.  Sometimes I do both.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?  I am not a traveller, although I have done a bit.  If I won a trip to go anywhere in the world I would go to see my family.  I don’t get home often.  They are all getting older.  So many new babies.  I would want to send time with them as I don’t have the means to go there more than every 3 – 5 years.  I was glad move away from them but that doesn’t mean I don’t love them, because I do love them dearly.

What job do you think you’d be really good at?  I would have made a great photographer if I had studied it in my earlier years.  I have always loved taken photos and in the last few years have made it my hobby with a passion, taking photos mostly of people and my Kitty Kat.

What is your favourite drink?  If we are talking about alcohol, it would be whisky but really I’m not much of a drinker, I usually leave it, rather than take it.  Tea is my go to drink for relaxing, writing, watching TV,   I love my Tea, not herbal tea, regular good ol, Tetley Tea!

What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch?  Ah, there it is…The American Idol, The voice, Talent shows in particular.  Judges are too critical, and no one is ever in agreement with the winner.  It is more about personal likes of the judges.  I have never watched more than five minutes of Simon Cowell.  Bully.  He’s a bully.

What is the best single day on the calendar?  Honestly, I don’t have a favourite day.  I don’t like being in an over stuffed room for family dinners.  I don’t like going out to restaurants.  Due to my anxieties I like every day about the same.  Even my wedding anniversary because, well I don’t mean to brag, but I did find that one in a million who treats me great everyday.  It wasn’t like that in my first marriage so I appreciate this one.  I don’t know how he puts up with me though.  He’s not perfect, but he’s close.  I hope I feel the same a year from now lol!

What movie best describes your life? This is a tough one.  I don’t watch many movies.  Hmmm, well if I have to pick one I guess it would be…I’ll have to come back to this one.     Okay, I’m back…still nothing!….okay here it is….“Live close by and visit often!”  I know you haven’t heard of this one.  I made it up.  At one time we owned two houses side by side, I was going to live in one, my husband in the other.  We were going to build a draw bridge so if we wanted each others company we could just walk across, if we didn’t want to see each other we would draw up the bridge!  Wouldn’t that be great?  Oh yeah, and we were going to do short you tube videos about it.  Unfortunately we couldn’t afford to keep both houses so we are still living in one house.  We love each other, we are still married but we like our space.

What’s the hardest lesson I’ve learned?  Don’t get in to a retail business if you don’t know what you are doing, no training,   There is a lot more to it than I thought.  I incurred a lot of debt.

What do you want to be remembered for?  I want to be remembered for being compassionate, generous and carefree, (carefree once I got my shit together!)

As the only human left on Earth, what would you doHa, I like this one.  I am not a social butterfly so being the last person on earth would be right up my alley.  Well probably not, I’m sure I would get lonely, but I love my alone time.  I would sleep a lot, I would eat less junk food and for the first time in my life I wouldn’t be anxious about leaving the house.  All in all though, I am glad I’m not alone all the time.

  1. Thank you so much!
I also don’t like those blog contests, because it always ends up being some kind of popularity competition that I don’t want to be a part of. Blogging is supposed to be fun, I don’t want to be better than the others, I want to be me.
That’s why I liked the Liebster award, is a cool way to know more about the people you follow and to get to know new blogs!
Don’t worry about your 50 followers because quantity doesn’t define quality and people will come when they come 🙂

    1. I didn’t mean blogging contests per say, but talent contests but this didn’t feel like that so I went for it. I’m not too worried about followers but it is nice to know that people are reading what you write. All in good time! Thank you.
