My assignment for today from Blogging Fundamentals two-week program was to design a logo to customize my branding. They suggested a few ways of doing that but I decided to go into my Corel draw program to try to design one for myself.
I am not an artist by any means. I have trouble making stick men look good. That is not my specialty anyways, so that is all good. I started out by playing around with different symbols, signs, images, etc. Then I went to the basic lettering. I sure wish I could draw. I like to do things myself whether I do them perfectly or not for myself doesn’t matter. I just like to try.
Getting back to the lettering… It took me four hours from start to finish. I typed out initials of my name, initials of the blog title, made a few copies of each. I kept trying different type styles most of which are boring. I finally came up with a combination of initials from the title of my blog and the initial of my first name.
- R&R, R and R …. for Rant and Reason
- AM, A M B, AB …. for my pen name
- I also tried smiley faces and other symbols with R on the left and R on the right with the symbol in the middle
What finally worked is something as simple as the Harrington font. The A looked really cool! The A represents the middle of my title “and” as well as the first initial of my name, Anna. The logo is as shown on the featured image. I am pleased, first time ever!
What do you think of it?
