This daily prompt was Nov. 30th but I was just setting up my blog then. I didn’t relate to today’s prompt so I went back through the posts and found Zoo.
I don’t know about you, but I am glad I do not have shopping to do today. I didn’t have much Christmas shopping to do as most of the gifts were personalized but today, the stores are going to be like a zoo!
Have you ever noticed that the big box stores have a ton of check-outs, but when you get to the checkout area there are only three or four tills open? I get it, they don’t know the exact time they are going to be busy. Why go to the expense of putting all those check-outs at the front of the store if you NEVER use them?
I don’t even have to go shopping and it’s making me anxious. Remember when Boxing Day was one day only so the retailers could clear out over-stocked product? Now there are Pre-Boxing Day sales, Boxing Day, Boxing Day Week!!!!
Everyone loves a bargain, truth is though now that everyone expects sales and don’t shop much before everything goes on sale, the retailers have to double their price when they first get their stock in so they can offer the “Must have sales” before and after Christmas. We are now getting conditioned to look for “deals” before Christmas or wait until after Christmas. It’s great in theory to go to a sale, but in reality it is driving the original price up, just so they can offer those sales.
The price of Laptops this year have gone through the roof. I have seen some apple computers priced at $14,000. I wonder why they have gone up so much. Well, it could be because they have to reserve some computers for big boxing day sales or, maybe it is because they have to offer “happiness guaranteed” or you can return it for a full refund. In turn they cannot sell it as new because it has been previously opened. They have to reduce the price. The only way Retailers can make money these days is by selling their inventory at half price which is probably actually full price or close to it.
Am I the only person that thinks this way?
Happy shopping folks,
I’m Frazzled Again.
