Feeling cozy, warm and thankful

via Daily Prompt: Cozy

I was feeling very thankful this morning when I didn’t have to get out of bed.  I live in a city that thrives in summer tourism.  I know this is not summer but, our winters are usually more mild than it has been so far this year.  We rarely dip below 0 degrees, right now we are hovering between -6 and -11 degrees Celsius.

I was all hunkered down in my cozy, warm bed and up jumps Kitty Kat who was also feeling thankful to be inside with no to-do lists.  We were nicely snuggled up and we both fell asleep, again.  Next time my eyes opened it was 9 am.  I immediately jumped out of bed with the realization that we had a great dump of snow in the night.

Even though I had decided to take a break from the store, the snow did not.  Legally, we have to have the walkway shovelled by 9 am.  Obviously this morning that wasn’t happening.  I did get to the store by 10 am.  The streets were pretty quiet, hopefully I won’t get a fine in the mail later because I didn’t have the deed done in time.

Ahhhh!  Back home to my nice warm house.  I thought about going back to bed but realized I would still go for a nap later.  I didn’t want to waste the whole day away.  I had a little look around for Kitty Kat and there he was….still in bed, my warm, comfy, cozy bed.  He looked so darn sweet with his beautiful, fluffy fur poking out of the sheets.  I was envious, but life goes on.

Back outside I go to shovel the sidewalk and driveway for the mail carrier.  The snow was light, but there was a lot of packed ice underneath.  I felt appreciation for the carrier’s daily routine and I found extra delight knowing it was not my job.

Here’s hoping everyone has a comfortable, warm, cozy place to rest their head during these cold months.

I’m Frazzled Again.

  1. Brrr sitting in Florida thinking it’s cold. Your mail carrier is lucky to have you. My husband and I delivered papers, during a hurricane because it was mandatory. You know customers complained because their papers blew away? Haha you and kitty staying warm!

  2. Nice post. 😊
I stay at someplace in Africa 😂
I’d give anything to get snow here.
Nothing much changes here during the Christmas period. For example, it’s 32°C here today. 😊
And while I’m very thankful for the nice weather, I want to know what snow feels like 😋
I’ll know some day…. Lovely post. Sorry for ranting
