I’m Trying to Forget about Treats!

Basically, I have done nothing since Boxing Day.  I didn’t have to go in to work so I neglected to get off my arse more than a couple of times a day.  Here it is January 3, 2018 and I still have no motivation to do anything.  I am sticking to my new healthy eating plan, but today I had to go out to the grocery store.  Yikes!

Never go to the grocery store when you are hungry!  Try to avoid the Junk Food aisles.  It is very difficult to do because they usually have some form of junk food at the front of each aisle.  They know our weakness!  My goal is to leave the store without junk food in my cart.  It’s worth a try.

I usually send my husband to the grocery store for us, especially when I’m on my healthy eating kick.  He happens to work every day and since I am home, it doesn’t make sense that I make him go do the task that I am perfectly capable of doing.

Ok, here it goes.  This is a real big test for my new healthy lifestyle.  I am up for the challenge.  I can do this.  I won’t buy chocolate bars, chips, candy.  I promise myself I won’t.  Not today.

Success once again!  I shopped for boneless chicken breasts, a bit of red meat, cucumbers, green beans and put some blueberries in my cart for an extra treat.  I did not buy any junk food today.  I am having a bit of a time increasing my water intake but that will come.  No need to be too hard on myself.  I am still succeeding.

Against my own advice, I went to the grocery hungry.  Duh!  Still I managed to refrain from putting junk in my cart.  Woo hoo!  I did it.  What a treat, indeed!

Time for some eggs and veggies,

  1. You are doing really well. It’s a process. I have work yet to do, but I try to take one or two things at a time, and in one and a half years I have lost 34 pounds, hike every day, and don’t permit preservatives (99% of the time) in the food I eat. Seltzer only, no sodas. No alcohol. Thank GOD for dark chocolate and congratulations!!!!

    1. You are doing it the right way, over time, not a quick fix. It is about changing our lifestyle. I can’t hike and stuff as I have bad hips, knees and back but my husband does. Good for you. I have 30 to lose so if I manage 2 lbs or even 1 lb per week that is good enough. Thank you.
